Online Poker for Beginners

Posted By itaiarbel | Rules News | September 9, 2009, 06:32 AM | Views: 1

If you’re new to the world of online poker, then you may find the range of choices out there a little confusing. A good place to start is to find a poker site you can trust. There are lots of online casinos that offer poker games, and you can also find dedicated poker sites, such as Pacific Poker, which have ties to established online casino sites.

The range of poker games available may also confuse you at first. Those who are new to poker may find that playing Texas Hold’em poker is the best place to start, as this is one of the most popular poker variations, and the one you will see the most of if you decide to play in poker tournaments.

It may be a good idea to start off in low stakes rooms - don’t feel like you have something to prove and that you should play in a more expensive room if you don’t believe you can win. A common beginner mistake is to come to a table with a short stack - it’s better to be able to play a lot of hands, than to get busted out by one small mistake.
